This cat is about twice the height of a standard domestic cat. It is very active and may not be legal in all areas because, like the Savannah, it is generally considered to be a hybrid. Chausie males typically weigh about 25 pounds, while females tend to be smaller. Individuals considering keeping Chausies should be aware of the cats' much larger requirement for space and activity. They are very loyal to their family and they enjoy the company of other pets. Health problems that you should watch for include digestive tract issues as this breed tends to be gluten-intolerant. For this reason, they may have trouble digesting commercial cat food which almost always contains wheat or other gluten grains. Similar to other large-breed domestic cats, Chausies can take up to 2 or 3 years to reach full size. blog comments powered by Disqus |
