If you're looking for a great pet treat for the Halloween season, be sure to try these healthy peanut butter pumpkin wafer treats.Pumpkin is good for both cats and dogs. It is filled with healthy vitamins and minerals, and it acts as a binding agent for pets, so if your pet is a little constipated or has loose stools, try a little pumpkin in their diet.

Pumpkin Peanut Butter Wafers Dog Treats
Ingredients:

  • 15 oz. can pureed pure pumpkin (not filling)
  • 3/4 cup uncooked cream of wheat (If wheat sensitive, use rice cereal instead)
  • 1/2 cup dry powdered milk
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter Directions:

 

  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. Mix all ingredients together. Drop small spoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet
  3. Bake at 300 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

HINTS:

If you'd like to make bite sized training rewards for small dogs or cats, you can use a pastry bag and squeeze out small rosettes for tasty bite-sized cookies!

Depending on the size, this recipe will make around 20 treats.
