"Making Noodles with Kittens"

The other night, I decided to make homemade noodles. It seems my new kitten, Stormy, wanted to help too. This is how things went....

Put flour, salt, baking powder, egg yolks in bowl. Add Water.

Remove kitten's paw from bowl... Dust her off...

Put kitten on floor

Mix ingredients to form the dough. Remove kittens paw from bowl of egg whites on counter... Wipe paws...

Put kitten on floor.

  Flour the counter to roll out dough ... Take kitten out of flour... wipe off paws...

Put kitten on floor.

Roll out dough on floured counter.  Take kitten off rolling pin… Wipe paws …

Put kitten on floor.

Roll dough... Remove kitten from dough...  Dust off kitten...

Put kitten on floor...

Re-roll dough to get paw prints out of dough. Cut dough in strips to form noodles… cut in desired lengths. Place noodles on baking sheet to dry. Catch kitten & get the noodle out of her mouth that she is dragging off the counter, Dust off all the flour that is all over the kitten.

Put kitten on floor.

Think to myself, why in the Heck did I want homemade Noodles?

Try to clean flour off counter ...Get kitten out of sink & gooey flour-water mixture she is walking in. Try to wipe goop off kitten's paws.

Put kitten on floor.

Clean off counter & sink & try to keep kitten off cut noodles. Try to clean flour off kitten. Clean flour paw prints off of stove.

Put kitten on floor.

Put noodles in oven so kitten doesn’t walk over them & carry them off.

Put kitten on floor.

I don’t even want these darn noodles!

Boil the broth to put the noodles in ... Try to keep the kitten from jumping on stove.

Put kitten on floor.

Put noodles in broth.. Cook noodles till done. I'm not even hungry. Hear kitten clicking all over the counter & table. Dried flour and egg goop on paws.

Run the sweeper in kitchen & thru the house to sweep up flour paw prints everywhere.

Wonder again, why did I want homemade noodles?

Sit down at the table while noodles are cooking... Kitten sounds like she has tap shoes on walking across the table. Oh Well!!

Soup is done... I'm not hungry. Maybe later.

10:00 p.m... Maybe I'll have a bowl of soup. Get a bowl of Noodle soup & sit down at the table.

Three cats join me and two dogs, all of us acting as though we are starving.

Kitten tries to fish a noodle out of the bowl.  Shakes her paw and splatters me with soup all over my glasses.   The other two cats walk in front of me & stop in front of me with their butts in my face.

Dogs pawing at me, hungry because they never get fed?

Share some noodles with the dogs, cut up some noodles and put on table for cats.

The soup is very good, I think. I don't see any cat hair; just a few noodles with paw prints.  

But I’m really too tired to eat. I clean off the table & dishes and wipe off any flour I missed.

Go in & take my shower. In the shower... It dawns on me ...I never put the cut-up turkey in the soup!! Oh Well!

I come out of the bathroom... The kitten is sleeping like a baby, curled up in a ball on the recliner.

The other 2 cats are sleeping too. The dogs are both snoring. The noodle soup is cooling off on the stove. I'm whipped!

I look over at the sleeping kitten... She has a white nose.   Must be flour!

She had a good time helping me make noodles! Guess that's all that matters!!

But don't think I will be making noodles again anytime soon!
